Amy's in the Nexus, sitting curled on a couch in her human alt form. She's looking pretty content, but also just a little green around the gills and tired.

"Have you ever stopped and looked back on your life, and realized that it's gone a way that you would have never dreamed of?"

"Often, but that's just the way life is," says a fellow with a pair of twins on toddler leashes. He'd show up on scans as robotic, but the twins are human.

She grins at him, then leans forward slightly to speak to the babies for a moment before saying, "Not the life that I'd known. For gens my creators and theirs have lived quietly, surrounded by family, and nothing more dangerous than the occasional traffic accident."

The twins respond in their own babbled toddler pidgin of Russian, German, Japanese, and English word fragments.

"Sounds nice," says Blues. "And boring. I think that would drive me nuts after a month at the most, and I'd be off looking for something else to meddle in."

She chuckles and offers to pick the little ones up. "I think I'd go nuts with anything more exciting. I seem to be made for quiet things like taking care of a family."

Mikail is interested in being picked up, and reaches for Amy. Ciel, however, wants to wobble around some more and look at things.

"To each their own," says Blues. "If I was made for quieter things, someone got a few lines of code wrong somewhere."

Amy lifts the little boy and snuggles him against her fluffy sweater, crooning softly as she smiles at him. "You're very cute, do you know that? You remind me of my son a few years ago."

She looks up at Blues, her dark eyes shining. "They're adorable."

Mikhail giggles and makes a soft comment in babbled Russian.

"Yeah. They take after their mother."

She looks from baby to Blues, her expression thoughtful as she gives the little boy a peck on the hair. "I can see you in his face, too."

"I was never that little," Blues replies with a grin. He chuckles and looks at the twins. "But they're definitely not something I'd have ever expected would happen to me. My brothers are still making jokes about me 'slipping into the gene pool when the lifeguard's back was turned'."

Amy blinks, then hides her face against the little boy's hair and laughs.

"There was an LOL involved, of course."

Ciel wobbles over to look in the bag of toys and baby supplies for something. Ah, there it is! Reaching in she pulls out what might initially be mistaken for some kind of blue rubber toy caterpillar - except it's not a toy.

"I gathered as much." She nods her head. "You're... a Wily bot or a Reploid?"

Then she looks at the blue thing and blinks. "That's alive."

"Half-Wilybot, technically, and the oldest of the species." Blues looks over at Ciel. "Hmm? Oh, the stress worm? Yeah, it is."

"Ah." She glances at him to acknowledge his words, then looks back at the little alien pet. "Stress worm? I think I've heard of them."

"I hadn't, until Ciel ended up with one."

Ciel, meanwhile, seems to have noticed that she and her pet are getting attention. There's a giggle and a sudden burst of babbling chatter as she holds up the stress worm as if to show it off.

Amy smiles and frees a hand from the little boy to touch the worm. "He's very pretty."

"My boss's wife referred to them once. I only overheard what she was saying in another room, so that's all I got. I wonder if she has one?"
