One of the more battered old Nexus Couches has been dragged over to a wall, leaving a small gap between the two. Someone is hiding behind the couch. They may have been there for a while, just listening to the Nexus and occasionally risking a peek. Finally, they seem to decide that whatever it is they're hiding from hasn't managed to follow them

"I'd make sure the couch wasn't alive first," comments a creature from another couch. His skin is white, his armour is white, his eyes are white- you get the idea.

"Alive?" For just a moment the edges of some very large wings might be seen poking out from behind the couch. "Couches can't be alive.. can they?"

"Anything's possible."

[hungry_moth]

"I don't want to eat something alive."

Brice crawls on to the end of the couch farthest from the white gloved hand (no sense in startling the guy by getting too close) and peeeeks over the top in an attempt to get a glimpse of the owner of the hand.

"That's what people use to get around from dimension to dimension. Someone must have thought you looked lost."

"It's safer than some places?"

Brice buries the bottom half of his face into the couch to suppress a giggle at the last question. "Couches pop up like weeds here and this one's pretty beat up. I don't think any one will miss it."

What he'll find behind the couch is a brightly colored fellow that looks like some sort of anthropomorphic butterfly or moth. The huge wings are very nearly poking out beyond the edges of the couch.

"Dimension?" Oh dear, this guy really is a newbie, isn't he. "All I know is that it brought me here when it hit me."

"Some places aren't safe at all." He almost looks about to ask something else, but changes his mind.

Oooh, those wings are cool. If the owner wasn't so skittish, Brice would be sorely tempted to poke at them.

"So you weren't here when it was tossed at you? Huh, that must mean someone else from your world frequents the Nexus. Did you get a look at who threw it?"

"This place can be safe enough as long as you know where to go. The places where there are more people, closer to the sign, really, have protection from the AV field. The further you go from there, the more likely it is that you can't count on that protection."

"No, I was" running from Chill Penguin "..somewhere else. And I didn't see who threw it."

"AV field?"

[sayel_nezarth]

"Er... no idea." He has seen people carrying them, but they're odd.

He blinks at question number three. "Wouldn't some, er... food be better?"

"It hit me and brought me here, so I think it's some kind of teleporter. But it's not one I've ever seen before."

"I don't understand... isn't food whatever you can eat?"

[sayel_nezarth]

"A teleporter?"

What. "You can eat that... that couch." Well, anyone could. "And not be ill."

[hungry_moth]

"I can eat almost anything."

[random_xtras]

"Nobody cared when I ate one!" says a cheerful female voice from somewhere up above, on the wall.

[hungry_moth]

The shape behind the couch - a moth 'bot whose wings are almost too large to let him hide back here - looks up at the voice.

A large, soft pink robotic katydid looks back with smiling brown optics. "Hi."

"Hello," he looks around as if trying to make sure of an avenue of escape just in case. "Who are you?"

Forte is giggling at this point. The moth certainly is funny looking. And acting really odd. "I don't know what that thing is, but the Nexus is very safe. You stay in the area and no one can hurt you. Are you running from someone?"

She looks a little startled. "I don't know why you'd want to, but if you insist on it, I'm fairly sure the Nexus can replace it. The stolen ones get replaced quickly as it is."

"Yes. Or I was. Are you sure no one can hurt me here?"

"I'm very hungry, and the couch looks like it would taste good to me."

Forte nods. "Yup. The only thing that can happen is getting turned into weird stuff, but that's not that bad. I was a bird for a while."

She looks surprised. "You eat furniture?"

"Getting turned into something else wouldn't be that bad. I'd be harder to find that way."

"I'm designed to eat recyclable things. It's polyester. That's the almost same stuff as some old soda bottles."
