Now here's someone who hasn't been in the main part of the Nexus for a while - there's a Rock on a Nexus Couch.

"Do some things happen in every version of a timeline? Or do you think any of it can be changed and all you have to do is find out how?"

"If the conditions are the same or similar, then the same things will happen." Aion thought about the second part of the question. "It's a waste of time trying to find out how to make the outcome different. All you can do is use what you have, and create the ideal situation."

"The conditions weren't the same, but we still ended up with some of the same results."

He nods at the rest. They'd have to, though he has a feeling it's not going to be easy.

"If the results are similar, then there was a condition present that wasn't previously taken into account, perhaps."

[rox4brains]

He thinks that over. "The only thing I can think of that was the same is that my younger brother exists. So maybe it happens in every universe where he exists."

"I would think that some things would have to happen the same or else it wouldn't be a version of that timeline." This could end up very confusing, as anything dealing with temporal mechanics was, but oh well. "But I don't think you're stuck on a path of sorts."

[rox4brains]

Rock nods. "That makes sense. None of those future people could exist if this hadn't happened somehow. It's just weird for it to be happening now, instead of a hundred years later or something."

And somehow Rock has managed to rarely run into an alt, so this is followed by a somewhat sheepish grin. "Hi."

"Maybe it's an instance of you mess with the Nexus, it messes back?"

Rock just grins back. "Hi."

"Maybe. I just hope the Omega Virus stays gone. It seemed to be a pretty big thing in those future universes too."

".. do you know what a reploid is?"

"I'm sure there are major events that might be common among different timelines, however, if one thing can vary then I believe anything can be changed in your or other timelines."

[rox4brains]

Rock nods. "I think we just ran into one of the major things."

Raquel looked a bit concerned,

"Is everything all right?"

[rox4brains]

He shakes his head slowly. "The world isn't ready for this, and it's going to get bad. It's just all happening too fast."

"If you mean alternate worlds... I changed things for two of my alternates."

[rox4brains]

Rock nods. "But do you think there are some details that can't be changed? Or that once things are in place so that they could happen are almost certain to?"

"Most of the important things could be changed, if you worked at it enough."

Rock just nods slightly, and watches X playing on a Convenient Nexus Swingset a few years away.
