"I think if people are that open to suggestion, your world's pretty much screwed." Ali's got a book too! It's not fancy or glowy or anything, it's just a book. But she likes it. "Are people in your world that easily tricked with reverse psychology?"

"I don't think so," Ariekne says. She thinks for a moment, then offers, "The elder magi think that teaching atrocities will inspire others to commit the same atrocities. I think.. well, I think it's dumb."

"I've found that if people are going to be 'inspired' by that sort of thing, they'd just go out and do something equally bad if left to their own devices."

"That's what I thought... and besides, I mean, when I learned what had happened, I was disgusted, not exactly impressed."

Doneld stares morosely at her chest. "I dare say it depends how you choose to tell the story. Taking over the world requires a certain level of competency though, so I wouldn't worry about the average elf taking it too far." He had to admit however, that they tended to have insane down pat.

"Well, I imagine it's probaly not the average elf we'd be worrying about here." She bows to the Forsaken! It's polite.

Don bows back, more out of sheer surprise than politeness, and his eyeless gaze makes it to her face for a second. "If you mean beyond average then your question is more about the responsibility a teacher bears for the actions of their student, than that of a bard spinning tales in the inn."

He grins. It's not nice, but for once that's more the fault of his damaged face. "So, are you the teacher or the student?"

"Well, I guess that's true. And I'm the student. Well, kind of. I'm more of observer, I guess. I already knew about it, and I think other people should know.. so this sort of thing doesn't happen again."

"It might give them more ideas, certainly."

"What's wrong with bein' insane?" The pale girl pauses to look at her with bright blue eyes, one pierced brow arching as she pats the back of the fat baby in her arms.

"er... nothing." Ariekne smiles. "Insanity really doesn't have anything to do with it. Just hurting a lot of people does."

"Well, in my experience, the type of people inspired by that stuff would do horrible things anyways, and probably would eventually end up doing the really horrible stuff they weren't told about."
