*Zax looks exhausted. He slumps in the nearest comfortable-looking chair, and just sits there with his eyes closed for a while, not addressing the Nexus yet. When he does speak, though, he seems to be in a good - if pensive - mood.*
So, back home, we just won a war and saved our Planet. It was long and horrible and we're all very glad it's over. But there's something I'm really wondering about now.
We had some... sort of unexpected allies in this fight. They were invaluable. Without their help, we probably wouldn't have stood a chance. Even if by some miracle we'd won, there would've been heavy casualties. With them on our side, we got through it with close to zero losses.
These guys used to be mortal enemies of ours.
Now it looks like we're on neutral terms - we were allies of circumstance in the first place - but I can't stop thinking... we've got more in common than we thought. And I liked having them on our side.
But somehow there just wasn't a chance to talk after the battle, and while I could technically contact them over the mental network, it doesn't feel appropriate. And I haven't really talked to anyone else about this...
So... is there any good way to extend the hand of friendship, when they might not be willing to continue our alliance and I may even be the only one who feels this way?
