It's easier to be inconspicuous here in the Nexus than it is in other places. Few people here would think twice about a solemn-looking stranger, unobtrusively standing to the side some distance away from the infamous sign, after all. He's not especially tall compared to the people here. His long red hair, pulled back in a braid, isn't odd at all. ( Read more... )

Three, two, one.

"Aya!" Have a flying Sena. He missed you. :D

Aya didn't have anyone attached to him just a moment ago, let alone a teammate who died right in front of him less than a week ago. It's something of a shock.

"Sena?"

Sena pulls back and grins, looking a bit embarrassed at just having glomped his team leader. "Yeah, it's me."

Aya isn't sure what to think of the glomping, but he is relieved to have his personal space back before he had to pry Sena off himself.

"You're alive?"

Normally that would be a stupid question, but in the Nexus...

"Some people say having no desire only meant having achieved Enlightenment; but I would say, no. Not in itself, at least."

"... Such a life with a purpose, would that be different?"

Aya's expression could be called a smile, except a smile shouldn't be quite that sad.

"I think it could be."

"I think so, too."

Nope. Once you lose those, you might as well off yourself.

Schuldig gets a faint scowl. Aya's less than surprised to see him here, however.

"I hope that wasn't an offer to help."

::smile:: You haven't needed my help for that.

You Ayas are so self-destructive. I've actually helped one or two become less so.

"... Why?"

Setting aside the fact that he can't imagine Schuldig helping him with anything, let alone something personal.

No. But it's possible to find new ones.

It's odd enough speaking to an alternate version of yourself. Speaking to two of them is even stranger, especially when they seem so... different.

"You've found new ones?"

I've found a way to stay in contact with my sister without risking her life. I'm trying to keep my team together and stop Omi from being totally absorbed into his family. I've semi-adopted various alternates of family and friends in the Nexus. I realized that I've been living in a deep, narrow rut for years and that there's actually more out there to see and do.

You must understand that this is a lot to absorb at once, to say the least.

"You have a... family here?"

"Omi?" Or is it Persia now?

"For some, yes."

nobodys_son July 13 2007, 04:30:37 UTC
To most people I'm Omi, yes. ::Grandfather called him "Mamoru," but taking on the identity of Mamoru seemed to be the first step to destruction in too many realities. He'll be Persia soon.::

For anyone with the will to try.

"You haven't left Weiss yet, then." It's not quite a question.
