Seven-year-old human girl wandering by; looks normal, except her shadow is shifting and stretching in ways it shouldn't. 'Where's the edge of nowhere~? Is it in the Nexus?'

"Not this nexus." He watched the shadow warily. "It usually shows up along out of the way stretches of highway."

His wary look gets a surprised one from her.

'Oh.' She looks disappointed, then hopeful. 'Is there an anti-violence field there, too? 'Cause I can go if there's an AV field.' Maybe.

"There's something that keeps out demons, undead, and makes magic not work." He turned his attention from the shadow to the little girl that it was attached to.

She blinks a couple of times in noncomprehension, then light dawns. 'Oh, because some are bad?' Pause, frown. 'But some are nice!'

"I didn't make the feild. That's just how it works."

'It's still not fair.' :\ 'But ... maybe I could go. I'd like to see it. How do I get there?' She has a PINPoint on her wrist, if that helps.

"Are you one of those things?" He went to one knee to be more her height. He should probably have been asking about parents, but he'd been living in and around nexxi his whole life and had seen his share of independent small people off exploring on their own.

She appreciates not having to look up so high! And she shakes her head. 'I'm not a demon and I'm not undead. But I use magic.' Her shadow swirls for a moment as though to underscore the point, but has pulled back a bit so it won't cross his.

"Will not being able to use it for a little while hurt you?" His forehead creased with concern.

She hadn't quite gotten to that question herself, and blink-blinks. 'I ... don't know. I've never been anywhere I couldn't use it before.' Frowny! 'I could *try*, and then go away if it hurt....' She's actually starting to look curious now, like a tiny little scientist presented with an experiment to run.

He nodded. That sounded fair enough.

Then he cocked his head to look her in the eye, his expression kindly. "Is there anybody that you should tell where you'll be?"

'Um....' She thinks. 'I should tell Axel. And he might want to go too!' More thought, and she holds up her PINPoint. 'Can I have the co-ordinates? Then we could come later.' She's proud of herself for pronouncing "co-ordinates" correctly.

"Sure." He pressed a button on his own teleporter and then read them from the screen.

She taps them into her PINPoint very carefully, and then smiles brightly. 'Thank you, sir~. I'll go find Axel.'
