He turned the grin to the girl, the slight uncertainty of the expression suggesting that he's not totally confident around other people. "It's just plain stuff, pancakes, burgers, poutin."

"Great." His grin widened. "Oh, are you disturbed at all by mutants?"

"Good. Good. Because my kids... well, they're fuzzy." And one of the few things that made him lose his temper was somebody having a screaming fit at first sight of them.

He looked at her thoughtfully, feeling a little bad for telling her about those now. She'd said she was broke. But offering the kid a free one might scare her or something.
