The man who walks into the Nexus, doesn't realize it because he has his nose in a book.  It's an old book, leather bound,  yellowing pages, thick and heavy, almost like a tome. He looks pale, like he spends too much time indoors, and he smells like books, leather, glue and paper.  He walks in a vaguely straight line until he hits a couch

"Ah never really thought much about it, an' lately, it's not that important." He shrugs.

"Not that ah know of."

"Why isn't it important lately?"

"They...." he shrugs, uncomfortably. "We're not getting along. Dunno if I wanna know what other thoughts have been passed down."

"Oh, sure the present generation might not be that interesting, but the past ones? "

If I ever get around to having children, I'm probably going to wind up being the famous ancestor. My military exploits were... rather notable.

He looks interested.

"Military exploits? What sort?"

Military commander for ZAFT Forces in the African Community in the First Valentine War. Basically I was in charge of the military forces for half the continent. A big part of it was what the forces under my command to to the Earth Alliance tank corp at the Battle of El-Alamain. And yes, I am aware of the historical irony.

"Unfortunately I'm not," he taps the book lightly, "Still, it sounds very interesting."

"I'm never going to have children, but if I did I'd probably be the famous one." Rhys laughs.

[book_of_nines]

"Well you could still be the famous one, even if you're not the progenitor of the line. Great Aunts, Uncles things like that, cousins even." He taps his book that he's carrying. "I have a lot of famous relatives."

"Oh, really? Like who?" He leans over to look at the book.

[book_of_nines]

The book is entitled, "The Line of Nine: the Descendants of Findabhair" in silver type.

"Mostly spirit summoners, Talia of the Seven Stones... Dark Renard..." he gives a shrug. "Probably don't mean anything to you."

"Considering my family history...as much of a family as I have, anyway...is something of our world's history, it is rather important, even if I do not particularly care."

"It would follow that my family is rather well-known, even if those who know of them do not realize it."

Talking. Cat.

Okay.

He can deal with that.

Just like a spirit. Right.

"Something of your world's history? You mean, it helped form your world?" He sounds impressed.

Considering Mogget really is closer to a spirit than a cat, he's not too far off. :D

"In a manner of speaking. The world was there before, of course, but the Seven are the reason why it is what it is today." *purr*

"So, they did something to the world to change it?"

"Pretty important. It's all pretty facinating stuff, on both of my parent's sides. And then there's the history of the family I married into too," Elisa says.

There's another blink, like he gave the cat. Right.

"Yes, it is!" he enthused. "It lets you know where you came from and who you are."

Elisa smiles. "Definitely," she agrees. "Dad's Native American--Hopi, mostly--and Mom's family was from Nigeria originally. So I've got a pretty mixed heritage."

"Nice. My family is from all over the place... mostly European though."
