Natasha walks into carrying a sleeping infant against a shoulder. Her hand supports his head and neck as he is only a week old.

"What's the one thing you've done that you thought you would never do?"

She smiles and kisses the infant's forehead.

"Marry a human 'n git knocked up." Mornbein's eyebrows raise slightly as she drifts casually and curiously in the direction of the baby.

Natasha nods. "Having a baby is usually the last thing some people plan on doing. Myself included."

"The way the guys in the JLA 'n Titans all run I was startin' t' think I'd be an old maid till the... er... stinkin' world ended," said the half-Czarnian. Then she looked up from examining the baby. "Name's Mornbein."

"Natasha," she replies. "Nice to meet you."

Slightly sharp teeth showed in a grin that seemed to cheerfully offer mayhem, then the bright blue eyes went back to the little one.

"Uhhh, how old's that one?" asked Lobo's baby girl with uncharacteristic hesitation, one of her slender hands going to her softly rounded abdomen.

"A week." Natasha notices her hand going to her stomach. "How far along are you?"

"'Bout five months. 'N 'e seems ta be growin' human speed." She tipped her head to the side and leaned slightly to try and see the baby's face, then started as her own kicked her in the bladder. It wasn't that it hurt, she was just sensitive and it was an odd feeling.

"This is when it starts to get interesting. It was an experience, but I'm really glad it's over."

"Startin' ta cramp my style. Can't frag nobody no more without danger 'a fraggin' him." She frowned slightly, then reached a finger to touch the baby's cheek.

Natasha nods. "That's what happens. The inactivity was the hardest part to deal with."

"Inactivity?" Mornbein looked up, quirking one eyebrow.

[redheadspy]

"I couldn't work during the pregnancy. And then I was confined to bed rest for awhile."

Her expression dropped to horror for a moment. But then her face cleared. "Okay, I don't gotta worry about that. If I kin survive gettin' drained by a vamp I should be able ta git through carryin' a kid on my feet."

"One reason for being confined is my age. I was a high-risk pregnancy because of it."

Those bright eyes studied her thoughtfully, then turned slightly to the side as though she was listening for something Natasha couldn't hear. But the Nexus only laughed at her and refused to speak, and her eyes showed frustration as she said. "Yer age?"

"I'm quite a bit older than I look." She smiles a little.
