There's a rather rigid and obviously pissed off Spiderman in the Nexus, and he hangs upside down before asking a question.

"Is revenge out of the question for us hero-types?"

"And, one thing that you could never forgive someone for if they did it?"

"If you want to be upheld as a perfect and unblemished paragon of blind justice, then yes, revenge is out of the question. But if you're comfortable with your image being more mortal and flawed, then you may be able to forgive yourself for what you want to do.

"I think," she continues quietly, curling up on one of the couches, "that the most important questions you can ask yourself is whether you'll be able to forgive yourself, and whether there's any chance of relying on the law to give you peace."

He sighs. "S'not like I have the best image in my world. But come to think of it, the problem isn't in my world."

"The law? Well, the boys in blue are pretty good when it's comes to the normal crime. But I don't really think they'll be able to help much with my problem. Could I forgive myself, though? ..Dunno. Maybe, maybe not."

"I suggest you figure that out before you go any further. Revenge can wait."

"I've been uh, un-forgiving myself for years. Why should I start now?"

"Because there's no time like the present."

[spiderinscarlet]

"Y'know, there must be a flaw in that argument somewhere. But I really don't see it."

She smiles faintly.

"It isn't an easy thing to do, but it's worthwhile."

[spiderinscarlet]

"I'll see what I can do about that." There's a smile behind the mask.

"I wish you luck in it."
