Recker nods slowly, unsure about how to react to the fact that he was being consoled by a talking snake. Recker, however, decides some questions are better off unanswered. "Yeah. That makes sense. It'd be better for me to remember today as the day I lost my friends."

"Maybe. I don't care anymore. I don't even want to be happy, now. I'll deal with it. It wouldn't be right to avoid it."

Oh, alright. The giant talking snake-people must be aliens. "Thanks for trying, anyway. You picked a hell of a time to visit Earth. If I were you, I'd go back to your home planet until the whole Krill mess blows over."

"There'll be plenty of time for that, later. Maybe."

"You know, the war? It's kind of hard to miss. I don't know how things are on your planet, but it's usually pretty quiet on Earth. Where are you from, anyway?"

"...What? What about?" Ian takes the explanation in hand, reading and re-reading it. "What's this? Some sort of new crazy theory?"

"Oh. Well, if I can get back, I guess it's ok. What world am I on?"

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Hama. I'm Lieutenant Ian Recker." Ian offers a handshake instinctively. "Oh, uh...Sorry. It's a human thing."

Ian merely shrugs. "This stuff is over my head. I'll just tell Commander Tierney about it when I get home."

"What should I call you, then? You never told me where you were from, either, unless Naja's a place. I didn't think it was."

[sigma_supernova]

"You're royalty? Wow, no one back home'll ever believe I met an alien king! Hama, I've been kinda curious about something you might be able to help with. Have the Naja ever had problems with a people called the Krill?"

[sigma_supernova]

"Oh. Okay. But when I get back to Earth, can I call you an alien?"

"If you see them, be careful. They're pretty mean. You'll know them when you do. They're purple bug guys."
