There's a Gargoyle in the Nexus. Not really an unusal sight anymore, and this one's been here before. To the very observant, he might even be recognized as the Gargoyle that showed up with Elisa a couple weeks back. Of course, you might be forgiven for making the connection, given that he looks a couple of decades older.
"So... Been a while. For me, anyway," he says. "A bit over forty years, as near as I was able to keep track of things. Forty years spent tripping all over time. Ancient Rome, two hundred years into my future, and just about everything in between. All because of that damned Phoenix Gate. Thought I'd never see home again."
His beak twists into a smile. "But now I am. I was gone for forty years and I'm back to where I started, maybe five minutes after I left. And I'm having trouble adjusting to it all. I'm older, I've got a mate and hatchlings--who came back with me, thank goodness--but everyone I left is still the same. How do you go about fitting back in when you've changed so much?"
