There's a robot in the Nexus, all grey and white and black and blue. What isn't mechanical seems to be part of a whale, and he sports an impressive array of barnacles.

"I captain a ship," the thirty-foot robot begins. His voice is kinder than it is pleasant. "I've recently inherited two very small crews and had us set off through space for home again. The crews were rivals before, but we've... More or less worked past that. There's something else, though."

"We have a very problematic member who was only used for combat before this and was on the run from the law beforehand- he's not in control of his actions at all, and will kill, torture or do worse to anyone he can find. He was only kept in line through torture by my predecessor."

"If you were me, what would you do? Some of your crew, including a lost policeman, want him dead. Badly. Others think that's inhumane, and one or two are convinced he's immortal. Whether he is or not, if we send him overboard he'll just float into space until he finds the next group of people he can menace. If we sell him to someone who needs a soldier, we don't have any guaruntee they can control him."

"So... What would you do?"

He shifts his weight from foot to foot.

"...Also, what is Star Trek IV, and why do people keep asking me if I've seen it?"
