The hatchlings are back, shaking snow off their little pointy hats.

"It's snowing!"

"There's snow all over the village."

"What do you like to do when it snows?"

Ali smiles brightly when she sees the hatchlings, sitting down and holding out her arms for hugs before answering. It's good to be prepared.

"Hi! I like snowball fights."

"Ali!"

They happily swarm her, snuggling into a pile.

"Snowball fights are fun."

"Is it cheating to melt the snowballs before they hit?"

"Hello my darlings." She hugs and cuddles them all. "No, I don't think that's cheating at all. I think that's very clever."

Blaze waves. Of course he was the one who started that.

"It made things slushy."

"But them Mistral froze it all again."

"And then it was slippery."

"It was fun."

"Go someplace where it isn't snowing, preferably someplace warm"

"There's just here."

"And the village."

"And it's snowing in the village."

"We're too little to go anywhere else by ourselves yet."

"Yes, you may be too small, but I'm not and you did ask what I like to do when it snows" Methos says, looking down at them.

The hatchlings think back, and then nod. That was what they asked, if not quite what they'd meant.

"What are some other things to do in the snow?"

"Things we can do."

"There's a lot of it, and the big ones said it won't melt for a while."

The hatchlings nod.

"Snow is fun."

"What are you?"

They blink. That's a new word.

"We're Black Mages."

"And Waltzes," a winged one adds.

They're like snowmen, only they resemble corpses buried in the snow in a "Experiencing intense Pain" position...

Ten pairs of little eyes stare and blink at this. The small reddish-eyed waltz seems slightly less stunned than the others.

"That.. doesn't sound nice," a chubby little mage comments.

"Waddaya Talkin' 'bout? No one is hurt in the construction of 'em, so what's the harm?

By the way, don't tell anyone, but I have a soft spot for cubbleweeze like you. Mind if I call you cubbleweeze?"
