He has a box. In the box are little tea kettles that are snuffling around like puppies. He sets the box down and perches on a wall.

"My kitchen's currently haunted. Spirits aren't my thing. Anyone know how to get rid of them? And does anyone want to adopt a tea kettle?"

Ali looks in the box, being the curious sort.

"You have...you have tea-kettle babies? I'm not sure if that's the cutest or the most disturbing thing I've ever heard." She seems to be leaning toward cute at the moment.

The tea kettles 'tink' at her, rattling their lids, scrapping against each other.

"Yes, my tea-kettle had babies in a nest behind the stove. My friend has adopted a tin of biscuits and named it Alfred."

"Oh. Oh my."

Since baby plus anything equals cute, Ali's won over pretty soon. "They're cute at least."

"I suppose. Would you like one?" Alexander's more of the opinion that babies are loud, smelly and a lot of trouble. But they are cute when they're asleep.

"I think I would."

Ali's pregnant. Babies are good things in her mind.

After a moment he picks out a blush pink tea kettle with little yellow flowers on it. "Here, how about this one?"

"Oh, pretty!" She smiles, holding out her hands to take it.

He hands her the tea kettle that rattles its lid at her and nuzzles her hand.

"Aww! Aren't you a friendly thing?" Ali is now very happy.

Her spouses might not be, but well...they're not here to stop her, are they?

The tea kettle 'tinks' in her hand and seems content.

"They make good tea."

"Do they? Even better." Yes, she thinks Jas needs to meet the teakettle baby now.

"At least the mother does. I haven't tried the babies yet." He doesn't mind, though he's not sure he wants his name mentioned in connection to the tea kettles to James.

Like Jas isn't going to want to find out who's giving his wife freaks of nature as pets?

Sorry dear, you're not getting away that easy.

"So what should I name her?"

He shrugs. "I don't know. It's your tea kettle. I wouldn't know what to name a tea kettle."

"Hmm...I'll need to think about it."

"Of course. The naming of pets is a serious thing."
