"I don't know anyone named Umi-san." Fay looks at this boy with green hair consideringly. "But you both know Mokona... tell me, has Mokona gone on a journey lately?" Smile.
There is a chance this Mokona is the same one he's looking for. Fay nods. "Thank you. But you haven't seen Mokona in some time? If you see Mokona, will you let me know?"
"There's lots of places here to stay. Tasha's house, rooms for rent, friends. I think I might have seen your Kurogane earlier." She doesn't like seeing him this way, even if she knows this isn't the same Fay.
"Thank you. I'll have to check around." He notices that the young woman looks unhappy, but doesn't comment. "If it was the one with wings... he isn't mine."
"Then there are two here...? At least two." He smiles, bitterly, thinking, And neither of them is mine. Of course. And then, treacherously, I wonder if they'll still work?
No. He's not going to think like that. They weren't the ones who made the deal.
His expression barely flickers through these thoughts and he shakes Ali's hand, unconcerned with the metal there. "Fay D. Flourite. It's nice to meet you, too, Ali-san."
That isn't his Fai. Even if the eyepatch is a decoration, that is not his Fai. He was playing with Fai's hair earlier today and it wasn't that long. His Fai has lovebites. His Fai smiles.
"Hello, Kurogane." Not his, or else he wouldn't be asking, of course, so Fay smiles that merciless smile he's adopted and tilts his head to one side and looks for... ah.
His eyes focus on the ring. "You're the husband," he says. "I'm happy for you." Why should I tell you? You don't want to know.
Kurogane twitches. That isn't right. Fai doesn't call him that. Usually. It's sometimes screamed, but that's a nice sound. This isn't. "Fai, what the hell? What has happened to you?" His fists clench. "Has that bastard done something?"
"Yeah. Thanks." He's not going to ask about this Fai's love life. Not yet, at least.

"The last time I saw Mokona, he was with Umi-san. But I haven't seen either in a while. You know them?"

"... Lately, I'm not so certain. As I said, I hadn't seen Mokona-san in a bit. He might have?"

She holds out a hand, the metal cuff on her arm peeking out from beneath the glove she's wearing. "I'm Ali. It's nice to meet you."

He turns away. "You'll be happier not knowing."
