All right, I have an ethical question, but I have to ramble a bit to get to it.

So, your late ex-boyfriend was a complete and total jackass- manipulative, verbally abusive, fanatical, and pretty much the definition of a wanker. He's right up there on your "People I Hate And Am Glad Are (If There's Any Justice In The World) Burning In Hell" list. ( Read more... )

"You don't have any responsibility to him, Alexa, and if I were you and someone had messed up my head more than it already is without my permission, I'd cheerfully take advantage of this opportunity to kill them.

"Well, maybe not cheerfully. But I wouldn't feel guilty."

Alexa rubs her head, sighing. "I don't kill, Ali, but I know where you're coming from. We're keeping him on Rory's insistence, can you believe that? But as soon as he's conscious again, I'm kicking him out, Rory's consent or not."

"Why not take him to a hospital then? Say you found him on the sidewalk. All good Samaritan-like."

"I don't know why Rory didn't take him somewhere. I got home after the guy was patched up and passed out." She scowls, really at nothing in particular- she just hates feeling like she didn't even get a say in all this. "I'll ask Rory why we don't do that when I get back home."

*FROWN* Don't let him stay, it... sounds like a bad idea. *understatement, anyone?*

Yeah, you're telling me. I'm kicking him out as soon as he wakes up.

Hey. *little wave* How're you doing?

He's hostile, and he's influenced your mind before? Don't let him regain consciousness in your home or presence. Get rid of him, however you're comfortable doing--in your place, I'd simply kill him.

Okay, that's two for offing him...

I'm planning on getting rid of him, just not that drastically. I'm either kicking him out as soon as he wakes up, or convincing my boyfriend we should dump him at the hospital and just say we found the guy on the sidewalk.

*She shakes her head slightly.*

In your place, I'd kill him, but I realize my reaction isn't the norm. I do think, though, that you should be rid of him before he wakes, not after. When he's conscious, he can influence your mind again, and you may find yourself suddenly disinclined to send him away.

*mutters* Yeah, in my place, I'd kill him too. *That's the thing about taking the high road, as Tim said. Stupid high road.*

I'll see what I can do. My boyfriend gave me the impression that whatever happened to this guy, he's pretty much incapacitated right now- I wasn't actually there when he showed up in our place- and my boyfriend's a lot less easy to influence with what this guy can do. But definitely, get him out as soon as possible.

Just kill him.

*exasperated* I can't. I don't kill.

Oh, riiiight. I forgot that bit.

Yeah, most people are disinclined to that, you know.

...even if I really really want to.

She listened to her talk, wide eyed. And with a snicker at the bus part.

"Not very far at all."

It's funny cause it's true.

"Yeah, that's what I think," she says with a sigh. "But he's hurt, and... you've got to help people when they're hurt." Even when they hurt you.

She could easily imagine a very laidback buddyJesus driving a bus to heaven (because the stairway folks got it wrong) and running over bastardlybastards on the way.

"I know." Because that hit close to home. "So give him money for a cab, and make sure he's patched up. You don't hafta kick him out on his ass or anythin'."

Alexa can imagine Buddy Jesus, too. Now there's a Messiah she can get behind.

"I know it's horrible of me to think this, but I want to. Rory had to convince me to even let him stay long enough to heal up. I... know he's not my ex, but he's another-me's ex, and he's a fucking bastard!" She gives a frustrated sigh.
