How do you convince someone that they don't want to continue the career path they've wanted since they were a wee ickle thing because you'd prefer that they spend their life with you instead?

Not sure. Might start with threatening their hands first, or their eyes. Then move on to their balls and their families. But I've noticed that you get more with threatening gonads than you do threatening the in-laws.
