If Spider knew what was going through the captain's head, and he has a pretty good idea, he would be proud of him for keeping a straight face at this. Plus, he would point out, their claws and beaks are pretty damn sharp.
*This is a man who regularly got beaten up by six-year-olds. It would be presumptuous of him to condemn anyone else's foes as ridiculous. The captain looks at Spider levelly for a moment. There is a time and a place for apologies, but he's far too proud for it to be here or now. He merely nods*
