What is one to do when those that you work with tend to exhibit at times all the maturity of a child?

((Edit: sleep-deprived and on the verge of passing out. Will be back and continue replying later. Back))

"Treat them as such, I would think." He smiles.

Unfortunately, that seems to serve only to encourage them, at times.

"Ah.. perhaps just ignoring them would be best? And threats of giving them even more work if they don't get to it right that moment?" He laughs a bit. "I'm sorry, I have never had this problem. It must be hard."

Ignoring would mean leaving them to their own devices, which tend to be far from productive. And I am hardly in a position to assign my captain more work, even without the fact that he leaves it to pile up enough as it is.

"Oh my, that does sound logical. Hmm.." he taps his chin for a moment. "How long has this been going on?"

He is also a bit confused about Nanao's 'vibes', so to speak. He doesn't think it polite to ask, though.

I do not know if my captain has ever taken his paperwork seriously. Certainly not in the time I've known him.

*wouldn't be offended; she's already had to explain what a shinigami is to quite a few people before, including even a rather interesting session of comparing notes with Death*

"Perhaps it would be best to simply resign yourself to your fate? I'm sure he's good for something, he must be a captain for a reason. Yes?" He smiles.

My, that would have been interesting. If he talks to her a bit more, he'll probably ask.

*sighs* I do wonder at times if that is the only option. And yes, that is certainly true, but...

*it was quite informative, at the least*

He smiles. "Well, perhaps he just enjoys getting yelled at?" He laughs a bit. "I'm sorry. Ah, I don't mean to be rude, but.. you aren't alive, are you?" He smiles apologetically, and looks interested.

I cannot say it would surprise me if he did, unfortunately.

Not rude at all. And you are correct. I am a shinigami- in my world, those who are responsible for sending the spirits of the dead to the afterlife, as well as purifying evil spirits.

"Ah, Japan. It's been a while since I've heard anyone use that term, and even longer since I have met one." He smiles. "Thank you. I was a bit at a loss, to be honest."

*is now rather curious*

There are shinigami in your world? Most that I have met here are unfamiliar with the concept.

"Ah, technically, I should be saying no, there aren't. But yes, there are. Everything is real, in the end." He smiles. "But even though Japan is a land of traditions, there are few people now who still believe in the shinigami. Perhaps the term is just another word for the same thing, though."

He smiles. "It's very nice to meet you." He bows. "My name's Aziraphale. Might I ask yours?"

Nanao Ise, it is a pleasure to meet you, too. *bows politely*
