Forte fidgets a little bit. She's here mainly to ask a question that's been bugging her lately. Forte's a bit upset that she even has to ask this question, at that. "What do you do if people keep acting afraid of you for no reason? I haven't done anything, but for some reason, people keep acting this way

Taron: *Taron sighs, empathizing completely with Forte's position.* I've learned to ignore it, for the most part. Not really anything you can do. *Taron's normally expressionless features are tinged with a touch of sadness, a rare occurance.*

Forte nods. "It's just really confusing to have people running away from you, saying bad things. Especially when one of them was an alternate of family."

Taron: *Taron's wings flap once in an unconcious gesture, betraying his unease.* You didn't do anything, right? Just let them sort out all that stuff. After all, just because they say something doesn't mean it's true.

Forte sounds indignant. "I'm only two months old. I'd remember if I did something bad. And Gospel hasn't chewed any of the ones that are scared of me." She points at the mechanical wolf, who looks up at her name being mentioned."

"They're probably threatened. Most men are intimidated by strong women."

Forte tilts her head, somewhat confused. "Why would that be? I'm only two months old and never fought anyone." She sighs. "I don't get why they'd be scared. One of them was actually an alternate of an older brother of mine."

"Maybe they know something about you that you don't?"

Forte frowns. "I wish someone would tell me, then. It's frustrating not knowing."

Do you want to allay their fears?

Forte shrugs. "I just want people to stop running away from me scared. It's confusing, and a little upsetting that I can't talk to some people without them acting like that."

It will take time for the general public to become used to you, if that's their current reaction. Ask the people you trust what you can do to ingratiate yourself to them.

"The general public where I was made wouldn't know who I am. It's alternates of family I meet here that are the worst. My brothers say that I should just ignore it, mostly."

"Sometimes people are afraid of things they don't understand. Don't let it get you down, though. Not everyone is like that."

"I'm still trying to figure out why it seems like the only people responding like that are alternates of family members. Everyone else seems to think I'm just a normal person."

"Maybe some of your alternates have done terrible things, but it does not mean you have to be the same way. I have heard about alternates of myself who have done things I would never dream of doing. Just because they are another version of you doesn't mean you do not have the freedom to make your own decisons." He smiles at her. "You can do whatever you want."

Forte smiles and nods. "I know that. It would have been different if I was still with my creator, but since I'm not, I don't have to worry."

"Depends on the person."

"It means they think they have a reason, but they're wrong. You need to find out what they think the problem is and get them to understand they've made a mistake. Not an easy thing to do, and for me it depends on whether I care what they think about me."

"The worst of it is the alternates of my brothers being scared of me. One of them insulted me, yelled some bad words, and left as fast as he could when he realized who I am."

Forte seems sad. "I don't like people being scared of me."

Gospel eyes Blues warily. He looks familiar.

"Not much you can do about alternates. Just means they're confusing you with their world's Forte. And if their world's Forte is mean or crazy, they're going to bolt before they get a chance to find out you're not. I have enough crazy alts to know that."

He holds out a hand for Gospel, not scared of her and watching to see if she wants scritched.

"You mean like the scary version of me I met after being turned into a bird? She kept calling me little peeper, and she dropped me."

Gospel sniffs at the hand a bit then looks up expectantly. She likes petting.
