Thomas had a book with him, but he was thumbing through the pages and not really paying attention. The cast on his leg looked a little worse for wear; he had been hobbling around more than he should have.

He looked up from his sitting position on the ground. "Are there any good distractions to think about when the usual ones don't work?"
