I find it strange that people would hold on to a bond that is useless. Recently, a few old teammates of mine, infiltrated Orichimaru's base in am attempt to "rescue" me. A new member proclaiming he wanted to bring me back to Konoha to protect the bond I had with Naruto.

I wonder, why do you hold to the bonds you have made?

Also, is witholding from destroying an enemy, in hopes that they will destroy your other enemy, a wise plan?
