"Sometimes it is necessary to become someone new. In some cases, it is best if those changes are permanent."

He nods. "Yes. We can't grow backwards."

"No. It would be very confusing, I'd think, if we did."

"Yeah I have, it's scary stuff too. I thought it made me better at first but I was in denial. Absolutely no chance in hell would I do it again."

"What made it so fearful?"

"Got hurt over it. I wasn't lying to someone else, I was lying to myself."

"Mmm. The line between those two things can get ...blurry."

I've lied to others and myself for so long I can't hardly tell truth from fiction.

"And if you had the choice, would you change it?"

I don't know. I've done it for so long it's become a way of life. I don't remember anything else.

"Well... I convinced myself I was in love with someone for far too long. And no, I'd rather not do it again."

He nods. "Self deception seems to be more common than the other kind."

"Yeah. I'm hoping not to make the same mistake again."

He grins his dark humor grin. "Yes, it's better to make all new ones."

*Wait a minute, wait a minute... Ecchan reconizes that magical blood. He hesistates to speak, knowing that person is different from the one he knows*

Not me, but... Loki-sama did. He believed that Sigyn-san wasn't reincarnated, but stayed in Helheim, so each time he went there to visit Hella-san, he tried to see her, only to be reminded of the truth.

It made him worse in the end, turning him into a child as a seal. But at the same time, it was better, because Loki-sama's role as Guardian of Midgard was beginning. He could reunite with Sigyn-sama finally.

Would he do it again? Of course. Sigyn-san was his most precious wife.

Grey stands very still while the boy is speaking, his face is is carefully expressionless.

"Yes. Of course she was," he says in a low deadpan voice.

*Ecchan slightly shivers*

...Even in your world?

*This was asked very, very meekly and shy. The boy looks very nervous, cltuching Silver Laevateinn near him.*

He is quiet for a long moment before answering.

"She stood by him longer than anyone else. As far as I know she stands by him still. She is his... most precious, even if he doesn't know it."
