Skyler Sands here... skjam May 5 2006, 03:27:50 UTC
Hi, I'm Skyler Sands. I go to Ohtori Academy. My hobbies include reading, giving advice, and playing the sax. My favorite class...well, I'm fond of many, but I've always been best at writing.

A good salad now and again doesn't hurt--and sometimes you want to cook for people with different tastes than your own.

"Nice to meet you, Skyler! I'm Hikari Netto. I never heard of Ohtori Academy...is it a big school? And you like many classes? Wow."

Skyler again... skjam May 5 2006, 03:38:32 UTC
Bigger than the school I used to go to, anyway. It's one of those fancy private places, so lots of the kids are well off.

I'm good at academics, and figuring out what teachers want to hear. Speed reading is really helpful. I'm not good at sports, though, which was a big problem at my old school.

"Sports is pretty much all I am good at when it comes to school." She rubs the back of her head, "I find school kinda boring..."

Then you have something in common with the other Hikari Netto I've seen around. Sadly, there's not really a good shortcut around going to school if you want to keep your options open for employment as an adult.

On the other hand, this is a good place to come for having things explained to you if you're really stuck on a subject.

"So why can't they make school more fun? Maybe then I would want to learn."

Because not everyone has the same idea of what's fun, or the same learning style, so teachers have to settle on a teaching style that works for the majority of pupils. Which alas is often a bit boring for everyone, and a lot boring for a few.

Mind, you may just not have met the right combination of teacher and subject for you yet. When that happens, I bet you'll excel.

"True. Maybe when I go into the next grade things will get better! Seems like all the older students have the better classes and more fun!"

Electives are good; they let you try different things.

*Skyler fades a bit.*

Oops, time to wake up now. Remember, don't eat or drink anything here until after it's tested.

"All righty! Thank you! It was nice to meet you and talk for a bit." Netto waves.
