Freya watches the assembled with an amused smile, lounging on one of the many sofas in the Nexus with her wings draped over the back, two cats the size of hounds stretched out at her feet. "I'm not fond of prophecy on the whole," he murmurs with a slight smile.

Her smile grows indulgent when he speaks. "No? And whyever not, my little warrior?"

[thedogbotherer]

"I have my course for the future."

[fairgirlfriday]

"Do you...then come and sit with me, Havelock, and let me enjoy the company of a man who is so set in his course."

[thedogbotherer]

He raises an eyebrow and folds himself gracefully into an armchair near her seat.

[fairgirlfriday]

That's not what she meant, but she accepts it for now. "And what is your course, my warrior?"

[thedogbotherer]

"A wise man does not tell his plans, no matter how pretty the guiless eyes that beg it."

[fairgirlfriday]

"I don't have to ask you, my warrior. I can find out on my own." She's still smiling. "It is a wise plan, though, for dealing with mortals."

[thedogbotherer]

His eyebrow twitches upwards again. "Mortals?"

[fairgirlfriday]

"Not everybody dies, not even at the end of the world."

[thedogbotherer]

"Indeed? Are you one of the lucky ones?"

[fairgirlfriday]

"The Norns have yet to speak to my fate in that. The goddesses are almost entirely uninvolved in the matter."

[thedogbotherer]

"Hmm." What he is thinking is in no way revealed by that small sound. "Well. Was there anything in particular you wished to speak to me about?"

[fairgirlfriday]

"Do you find it strange that I wish to enjoy your company, my warrior?"

[thedogbotherer]

"Not at all. But surely there must be many others vying for your attentions."

[fairgirlfriday]

"There always are."
