"What *is* it with you people and self-sacrifice?" Howl gestures in a wide flourish of blue and silver sleeves, glassy eyes wild. "I've sat here and watched you, question after question about 'who would you sacrifice for' or 'is there anyone you would die for?' or 'I'm thinly disgusing the fact that I'm flushing my rear down the toilet for someone else, but haha, don't mind me, really." *Really,* now, where does it get you, all this sacrifice? Dead, that's all. In a six foot ditch, if you're lucky. Noble words, perhaps, to say that you'd die for someone, but it's steadfast romanticism at best. You can't help a person -- not one! -- by being dead. My God, after all, when you're dead, then what? Is your corpse going to serve as a shield? A sponge to mop up tears? A noble doorstop? There's no one worth sacrificing for. You may as well save your lives for something useful."

"*Are* there any sane people left in the world?"

((Mun notes no disrespect for any other muns or characters who have mentioned or done this. ^^;; It's just Howl. Being . . . Howl.))
