How do you handle the pain and knowledge that your best friend sacrificed his life to save your entire universe from certain destruction?

My best friend sacrificed himself to save mine. I killed his killer. But it's still hard that I couldn't do anything.

Even if I wanted to, I couldn't kill the one who killed him; he died in the same explosion.

My best friend gave his life for me. I don't know how to handle it. I go see him everyday. Maybe in time it'll stop hurting.

From my past experiences, it never fully stops hurting, but at least you're able to move on.

I guess the best way to do it is to remember him, and respect what he did...

He would probably want me to feel sad for a time, allow his death to sink in, then move on.
