Birthday ideas Locked to Tom Riddle, little__riddle

Nov 22, 2005 20:51

Ok, my adopted son's birthday is coming up in another month or so. I've never had a child before, and I don't have alot (read ANY) experience with magical children - and yes, he's a magician in the making, and will be going to Hogwarts someday. Hopefully.

So what does one get a seven year old magic user for their birthday anyhow?

*rocks on her heels thinking* Diagon Alley has some preffy wicked toy stores for kids. If you can't get there I think I saw an outlet in the Mall.

What sorts of things does he like?

((*cough* You still have the puppy icon as your default. Might want to fix that...))

((Thanks! My post-owl icon is cuter though. I need to do a new puppy one.))

He likes looking at the stars with me, talking to snakes - yea, he's a parselmouth or whatever they call it. Um, books, playing hide and go seek.. animals - he likes all kinds of animals.

There's a lot of really nice astronomy books, ones that have star charts and the mythology of the different stars. Or maybe he'd like a pet better?

*writes down 'astronomy book and star charts*

*grins* already got a line on getting him a pet. Hey, what about those stars that glow in the dark - the ones you put on your ceiling and shut the lights out to watch? How does that sound?

The ones that rearrange themselves?

*blinks* They have ones that do that? Don't tell me, let me guess. Diagon Alley again, right? Man, I gotta get back there.

*nods* Had them on my ceiling when I was a kid. First thing I ever bought on my own *grins remembering*

What kinda pets were you thinking about?

*underlines 'moving stars from Daigon Alley' in her notebook.

He's a parselmouth, so another snake was the thought. After all, most of the ones around the house hybernate in the winter.

Perhaps a cat or something? *shrugs* We already have a messenger owl, named Jasper.

*scowls* cats are okay, well most of them. The snake would be the better choice, if only for the reason that he can talk to them.
