(Jason sits down Holding Quincy-his face tearstained)

I made a really stupid remark to paige and it made her cry. Then My Mom sent me to my room and yelled at me. She threatened to take away Quincy.

...Am I really that annoying? I mean am I really that rude and mean?

That's what I always thought. But if I really hurt paige's feelings like that then therre must be something wrong with me...right?

No, sometimes we might end up hurting someone even if we don't intend to or don't mean to.

It wouldn't kill you to be a little nicer to your sister. You may be young but I know you're very smart and I'm certin if you just use a little more common sense you could avoid these problems.

Sometimes when someone's having a very bad day, doing just one little thing can be the breaking point. This is why one must learn a little thing called tact and the application of it.

That was what my mom said. *Jason sniffs* She said that I need to be sensitive to paige because she's a girl and she's different and then she just looked at me and she got all sad and I felt like I'd killed her best friend or something.

*He shakes his head* I'm only ten! I can't be expected to do stuff like that...

Well.. why don't you try just looking before you leap? And if it looks like Paige is very unhappy, don't bug her until she looks okay again. It even works out for you, since you get to ruin a fresh good mood, right?

*Jason ponders this fact* I suppose you're right...

Yeah. She went to the doctor and apparently something bad happened so she has to go in for a test so...I made a joke about how she'd probably fail it and she got really upset.

*is suddenly very worried*

*nervous laugh* I guess I need to tone it down huh?

I wouldn't say tone it down.

More like save up and let it all go on one day.

*looks puzzled* You weren't mean to me.

Why would she want to take away, um, is that Quincy? *indicates the iguana* Pets shouldn't be taken away... how are they going to take care of themselves.

His mother just means that she'll take the iguana and not let Jason play with him for a while. Nobody who takes care of children is just going to leave a pet in the cold.

*slight shrug* Having kids doesn't automatically make someone a nice person.

Having them and actually putting effort into taking care of them are two different states. **smiles a bit** But if you think about it.. would someone who cares that much about the emotional well-being of her children do something like abandon a beloved family pet?
