I think I'm beginning to understand how all the Padmes must feel.

When someone you love is changing for the worse, and the only way you, personally, can fight against it is with your words, how do you ensure that they listen to you?

Telepathically forcing them to listen.

But if you mean of their own free will, there just is no way to ensure it.

...I was afraid of that.

Is there any way to at least increase the chance that they will, then?

Well, virus' and diseases of the mind are very... fluid. Even the craziest person has moments of clarity. Catch Zero during his more lucid moments, and you'll stand a better chance.

Mm...true.

...and I get the feeling that I'll have a better chance when he's nowhere near iX.

Thank you.

You can't ensure it or have it in stone... mercurialnature July 13 2005, 19:20:10 UTC
You can't ensure it or have it in stone...well, not unless you're willing to forcibly bind them to their word, and then it's not really all that loving is it? Sometimes...you just have to do you best and hope it works out.

And even if they -do- listen it doesn't mean they'll do what you think they should. *shrugs* Sorry, not too much help.

I wouldn't force him to do anything, no. But...nothing good can come of this.

Usually doing something shocking.

For instance, a good slap in the face works.

He'll be so surprised it's YOU doing this that you might be able to get through to him.

...I've seen too many cheesy soap operas/movies/similar.

It's me who posted that.))

...I'd rather avoid doing that, but...you have a very good point.

Sudden, random thought:

How, exactly, does this 'Maverick' whatever-it-is spread?

((Whilst it'll never happen, I am struck with the thought of 'Evil/twisted Iris'. I think it's the same part of my mind that wants all 'goody-two-shoes/excessively innocent' characters to lose it, and whatnot.))

I...don't know, exactly.

((Which isn't to say that I haven't seen my share of "MAVERICK VIRUS = STD" jokes in the fandom, of course... XD;;))

((...But...nothing transfers. How'd that work? Still works as a joke, I guess...I analyze too much these days. Still, the question was serious enough. Was it ever addressed?

...Oddly, I DID have their encounter recently in mind when I thought of this. But then I remembered: they're robots. Nothing to transfer between each other.))

...Yes, it's still me.

I keep forgetting to type my stuff in. Yes, I have reason to not be logged in.
