I feel like writing a journal entry about the old days. Just close your eyes and go back about 9 years. When you loved going to school and the teachers all had little apples on their desk that said "Number 1 Teacher"
~Go back to playing dress-up, cops and robbers, red rover, 66horses, and princesses.
~I remember playing in the big piles of sand outside Emily's barn and her mom not letting us inside because we were so dirty.
~Or building a tree house.
~Drinking those ices in the plastic wrappers.
~When you would go home and cry because in school you had to change your color.
~I remember that you were the coolest kid ever if your mom would bring McDonald's and eat lunch with you.
~When every holiday there would be a party. The party would consist of centers and one of them would always be cookie decorating.
~Making boob implants with water balloons.
~It was the coolest think ever if you got to go through your mom's jewelry box.
~I miss when hot summer days consisted of running through a sprinkler.
~Or watching Clarissa explains it all and wishing that I had a two story house so that I could have a friend like Sam that would climb into my room on a ladder.
~When you would get brand new shoes for the first day of school.
~Do you remember the Lisa Frank stickers and backpacks and folders?
~Or when you were the coolest person EVER if you had a pen that would light up or had some weird feather on the top?
~Believing in Santa Clause and the tooth fairy. Do you remember wiggling your tooth for hours until you finally got your reward?
~I remember when the only disease boys could give you was the cooties.
~Playing heads up 7-up or silent dynamite on a rainy school day.
~Do you remember the countless field trips to the science museum or butterfly world?
~What about seeing who could spin in circles the longest and then falling and laughing for hours?
~I miss the times when you were allowed to put on makeup and it got all over your face.
~Or playing kickball for recess and any close call would be solved by "bubble-gum bubble-gum"
~Swimming in the pool consisted of underwater tea parties and playing dolphins.
I wonder if in a few years I'm gonna look back to my highschool years and make a list of the things I miss. Maybe I shouldn't be taking the things I have now for granted or yearning for the things I once had, but instead be enjoying the things that I have right now.
