Philosophical Ponderings

1. Fighter pilot / surgeon / teenager turns sixty, discovers own mortality.

2. I finally realized that we don’t operate in the real world. We operate in a mental model of the real world. Things mostly go according to plan but due to the mismatch by and by “shit happens.”

3. I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you. - HAL

Lest these ponderous musings somehow promulgate alarm, no worries. Am planning to visit the southwest for a couple of days and look forward to the change of scene. Life is good despite running low on ripe tomatoes. Many green tomatoes still on the vine. If it would just stop raining for an appropriate interval, I could plant some garlic. Plenty to do according to mental model.
