My Bearded New LIfe
I've arrived alive and well in the land of the midnight sun!
This country is so strange and beautiful.
I feel breathless when I look around me and see land and water and mountain and sky permanently aglow, tucked away up in this vast wilderness which seems to be free from the passing of time.
The sight of cloudshadow drifting serenely across a mountainous landscape, forming dappled patterns of light and shade miles around brought silent tears of serenity and awe to my eyes.
Anyways, this place is great.
I'm farther from home then I've ever been, yet I feel as though something long dormant in me is coming alive. An ancient yearning for exploration and adventure is burning in my belly. I want to witness with my own eyes landscapes untouched, unseen by man, to be transformed by trial and tribulation into something more than I am, to scream defiance in an unforgiving wilderness.
