30 day football challenge, day nine
Day 9 - If you were the president of your favourite club and money was no object name one player you would buy and one player you would you sell?
For Barca, Rafael Varane … as we legit do need a decent centreback, and damn that kid is good. Obviously yes he does play for Real Madrid, but that’s arbitrary; first person I’ve seen in a long time who can keep pace with Messi is not someone you ever want on the other side. He seems like a decent guy too, should get him before the blancos eat his soul.
If we could get a package deal then Casillas & Ramos, no question … a. we legitimately need both a goalkeeper and defender, b. they know what Pique is like and somehow can make the best of it, c. for the lols.
For Saints, Fernando Llorente … we need someone quick and decisive up front, and the height would be advantageous. I need to make peace with the fact Barca will never buy him, on the grounds he isn’t a South American midget, and that would be an acceptable compromise. The fact he is very dreamy and wears tight-as-humanly-possible jerseys and that I’d have to watch match highlights every week is just so not relevant obviously.
From Barca, I wouldn't sell anyone as we have a stupidly small squad already. Though I suppose Valdes by default as he wants to go, and letting him go on a free is just insanity. Though obviously sense and solvent finances are some Francoist bullshit.
From Saints, Do Prado. The one Brazilian in the history of humanity with a lousy first touch, and we bought him. I don't even understand why he's still here; he could barely cut it in League One let alone Premier League. I feel like Danny Fox is overhyped too, and we have other good wingers (who are 12 and/or midgets but still).
