still around. . . kind of
Well... I have not posted in quite some time. Things have been real busy since last post.
Just a few things related to my Dad's death. The wake and funeral were both nice. Probably 500 people at the wake. The Charleston Fire Dept. had their honor guard doing stand at attention duty at the head of the casket. At the funeral the fire dept. guard came out again, plus the local American Legion came out and did a 21 gun salute and played taps. Both went well.
As for me, I have always handled death well, so I am fine. I was worse when he was sick. Mom is on anti-depressants but is doing better. Both of my brothers are doing better as well.
Somehow despite missing a ton of class, including the entire week of Dad's funeral, I somehow managed to get better grades this semester then last semester. Only bad thing was I failed my last paper in LRRW and will have to re-take it in a summer class next year.
I'm still working at US Airways, over spring break I went to Dublin, Ireland for a few days by myself and drank a lot. Was in Envoy(1st/Business) there and bank. Good trip although I could've used some company.
Lots of changes coming up at the airport. We lost our three daily Pittsburgh flights last October when US Airways downgraded service to PIT. Now with the lovely financial shape of the US Airline industry we are apparently losing our Philadelphia flights. This means they are going to try to get some voluntary furloughs, but could mean layoffs. Hopefully I keep my job through all of this.
I finally managed to get a summer internship too. I'm working with the West Virginia Attorney General's office. I'm in consumer protection. Its kinda of interesting although I did get stuck on a very boring and repetitive project late last week through early this week.
Also, I've been going out with a girl who used to work for United (Skywest pulled out of CRW and she didn't get on at comair who took over the United flights) I dunno if anything will work out but we will see.
Starting the week of July 7th I'm going to have weekends off, unless I pick up shifts for someone. So if anyone has anything going on anywhere let me know... I might just drop in.
