Long morning, ok rest of day

I send good-bye to my friend Matt today.
Even though the funeral was two weeks ago, Matt’s mom did not feel any closure until a memorial catholic mass could be held in the families church.

The service was today and it was rough going. When a 10-year boy gets up at the asp (what is the word for the podium in church, I know that’s not it!) and talks about what a great dad Matt was, well do you expect dry eyes? Hell no.

And Matt’s brothers talked of the fishing trips they went on. I went on a few of them and the memories kept coming back. I walked out of church feeling sad but glad I took the time away from work to attend.

Now this weekend is High School reunion weekend. Now I bet some of the non-US citizens are thinking, “What is a High school reunion?”

Well let me see if I can explain. You graduate from High school at 17-18 or so. Every five years, the class officers and other individuals try to get back together with their classmates and remember those days.
While I didn’t mind High school I liked college more. So I have not gone to any of these things for ten years.

This year is both Wendy’s and my 20th high school reunion. Hers is this weekend. So I get to travel to visit Wendy’s folks who are OK and they do like me. I get to see her family which at times I liked more that my own.

But I will not be near any computer. So please don’t break the Internet while I’m away.

Thanks again one and all for the birthday wishes. May everyone have a great week and
LATER FOLKS
