oi shit
hi guys. the midwest is currently being rocked by a gimongous ice storm and I'm teetering on having and not having electricity for 3 days now. I've lost power for about 5-6 hours out of all three of those days. My side of the street in this neighborhood is the only one that has any power right now, I leave my porch light on at night just to spite people, hehe. My parents who live right across the street have no power. The only motels in the area that currently have rooms are 40 miles south of here, and that's where I'm sending my parents and my grandma for the next two days. Brother bear and his new girlfriend have been sleeping here. It's a full, FULL house. By tonight I'll have 6 cats and a dog, plus lots of people sleeping here, IF we maintain electricity and heat. Knock on wood.
In other news, I unfortunately? grew up over my week of paid vacation. Instead of going to St. Louis to see Fall Out Boy, I bought a house. I'll be changing cities, but I bought 1-1/2 story 2223 square foot house that is only 3 years old. It's got a basement and a gas fireplace and that makes me happy. I close next month, and then will probably be completely moved by April 1st. So I might be touch and go for a couple of months.
At any rate, the freezing rain is back with a vengence, so I'm going to try to get a hot shower before I lose heat and power entirely.
