Summary: Jensen has finally decided what he thinks of Jared.
An Unexpected Proposal
It had taken days, or to be more accurate, weeks for him to decide how he would ask Jared THE question. He wanted to do something out of the ordinary, not just going down on one knee at a restaurant. He wanted it to be special, so he put a great deal of thought into it.
When he finally decided what he was going to do, he began wondering if Jared would say yes.
Did Jared feel the same as he did?
So far everything was going to plan. Jared had agreed to go out on the motorcycle with him.
The feel of Jared's arms around his waist was great. He drove away from the city towards the mountains. He had found this great place on his last ride, and that's where he was heading to now.
When they got there, Jensen leaned against the motorcycle, letting Jared take in the view: a view that stretched away to the sea, with the city below them. Jensen had already been up to the spot earlier and left something there. When Jared finally turned, Jensen asked him if he could see anything out of place.
"Oh, come on!" a frustrated Jared asked finally. "What it is? I can't figure it out!"
Jensen only shook his head.
"Can you at least tell me if I'm close to it? Please!"
Jensen pouted and then said, "Okay, where you are is cold."
After how Jared walked Jensen said if it got warmer or colder and somehow it sounded like it was colder. Finally Jared had to notice that as well and turned around and with quick steps went to the trees he had avoided.
Finally, after a few wrong turns, Jared headed towards a stand of trees. Jensen studied him as he tilted his head to the side and scrutinised what was in front of him.
"Yeah! I think I found it!" Jared shouted and darted towards to the middle tree to pick up the bag. "Is it this?" he asked letting it swing back and forth from his finger.
Jensen nodded, but as he wanted his love to look inside didn't say a word. Jared looked at him and then the bag, before reaching inside. Jensen smiled.
For a long moment, except for the rustle of the bag, there was only the sound of the wind and the birds. Jensen watched as Jared opened the box… then sank to his knees.
"Is..." Jared began. "Does… does this mean what I think it means?"
Moving across to him, Jensen confirmed, "Yes... It does… Jared…Will you marry me?"
For once, it was Jared who had to look up. Emotion swallowing his voice, all he could manage was, "Yes…"
