You might want to read the other stories I have paired Mac and Horatio first, but if you don’t care for spoiler you can read this at once.

Concerning the last part I had planned to use more than two of the characters, but the story did wanted to be something between only two.
Summary: A rare Christmas card has been sent
Crime Lab, Miami
Calleigh looked through the mail as usual it was a lot of paper for one case or another they were working on. At times she was amazed that it was still sent through the post office even though they were the age of high tech. Two envelopes she could put in the trash since it was junk mail: The other envelopes were a few Christmas cards that started turning up this time of the year, even if those got fewer every year. Turning over the last envelop she stopped when she recognized the handwriting.
“Ryan, Eric and Natalia we got a card from Horatio.”
Those she called came toward her and a few curious lab techs looked over. Calleigh looked for a penknife or anything to open the envelope with. When she slit open it and pulled the card out, all was standing around her, eagerly waiting for what their former boss had to say.
It was short and mostly just a wish of a Merry Christmas and it was signed with two names. They got little disappointed, as they had hoped for more. When Calleigh was about to put the card back, she saw a piece of paper.
‘We have it good, and both feel whole. I’m happy we made this decision.’
Stubborn man, she thought, “Guy’s there was something more - they seem to living together.”
“As we hadn’t already knew that.” Ryan said.
“Old foxes, you know.” Eric commented.
All smiled.
Crime Lab, New York
Danny came through the glass doors to the lab. He waved with a white envelope over his head that had the lab’s address hand written.
“I think Mac send us a Christmas card.” he announced.
“What?” Adam asked looking up from behind his work station.
“Do I have to spell it out? We. Have. Got. A. Christmas. Card. From. Mac. Taylor.”
“Cut it out. What so special about that?”
“Come on Adam, Mac never send cards.” Stella said as she showed up. “What does he say?”
“He wrote that they have it nice and wish us all a Merry Christmas.” Danny informed them.
“They?” asked Lindsay.
“He and Horatio Caine. You knew they moved in together.”
“Right, didn’t think about that. Didn’t they quit their jobs so they could be together?” Lindsey continued.
“Where were you when it happened?” Danny teased her knowing very well she had been there as well as the others. Mac hadn’t directly said why, but all knew the story between the crime lab bosses.
Crime Lab Las Vegas
“Who are Horatio Caine and Mac Taylor?” Lindsey asked her mother.
“They are the men who lead the crime labs in Miami and New York,” Catherine answered. “Why do you ask?
“There is a Christmas card from them. Wouldn’t it be hard for them to lead a lab in two different cites?”
Catherine looked at Lindsey trying to understand her question. She shook her head and continued toward her desk.
“Mum?”
“When I knew them, I don’t think they knew each other that well and were definitely not together. Why do you assume that?”
“The card was signed by both, so they must live together.”
“Come to think about it, I might have heard something about them getting together, but they probably didn’t act on it before they quit their jobs. Was there something else you wanted?”
“Not exactly, just wondering if you knew where Sara was at?”
“She’s still out on a case. Is it urgent?”
“No, I can take it up tomorrow.”
