Prologue Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Orlando had finally fallen asleep and gotten a few hours of real rest. He felt a little better waking up, as it was one day less for him to be alone. He had begun to count the days and hours more now than ever before, wondering if that was something he had begun to do when he wasn’t able to do things when he felt like it.
The days were too much alike. He felt that there weren’t many things he could do. When Elijah and he couldn’t even let their friends know what was going on, the option to have them visit became out of the question. He could talk with them over the phone, but that wasn’t the same, which meant that he talked less and less to them. It was only his sister and mother that he really talked to regularly, but not even they knew the real reason behind why he had gone into hiding.
It probably wasn’t surprising that he was bored and all too often in a foul mood. So much had to be changed and not really for the better, Orlando thought, even though he was amazed by what was happening to him. If the past few days were any indication; it looked like he might get into the habit of writing in his notebook. Just as he was doing today.
I wish… …we were able to tell our friends.
I wish… …it will be easy for Elijah to finally confirm that he prefer blokes.
I wish… …we will be taken seriously.
I wish… …that the world still wasn’t so narrow-minded.
I wish… …our revelation will not cause trouble.
I wish… …there will not be any complications.
I wish… …I could do some magic.
Orlando looked around where he was sitting. At least one kind of magic he thought he could do. The house didn’t look very tidy and Elijah wasn’t the best person to clean. He decided he should try to do something about it and maybe surprise his boyfriend when he came home.
He understood it would take some time and it wouldn’t be perfect. If nothing else, doing the cleaning would make the time go faster. He wasn’t in any hurry and could take his time, which meant that he wouldn’t be putting himself in any danger by overdoing things.
After starting the cleaning, he had to pause before he was half way through, asking himself if he had bit off more than he could chew, as all too soon he began to feel tired, and then there was the feelings of have some contractions. If he hadn’t been so stubborn, he would probably have considered stopping, but he so much wanted to be useful and he simply continued. He did make sure to pause often with long rests in between because once he started, Orlando felt he couldn’t leave the job half done.
I wish… …I didn’t get contractions when I try to make things look nice.
I wish… …the dust wasn’t collecting in the corners.
I wish… …--- I don’t know, maybe I wasn’t out of… what?
I wish… …Elijah was here, always.
I wish… …we will find a nice place to live.
I wish… …we can keep our place tidy.
I wish… …I didn’t get the kicks I get from time to time.
I wish… …I was able to show my love better than I do.
