I Fought the Foo and the Foo Won

Foo Fighters last night. It was so incredibly awesome as to be almost indescribable, but I can try. First, the set list:

Let It Die
The Pretender
Times like These
Breakout
Long Road To Ruin
This Is A Call
Learn To Fly
Stacked Actors
@@@ACOUSTIC 2nd STAGE@@@
Skin & Bones
Marigold
My Hero
Cold Day In The Sun
But, Honestly
Everlong
@@@MAINSTAGE@@@
Monkey Wrench
All My Life
@@@ENCORE@@@
Big Me
Keep the Car Running
Generator
Best Of You

Our seats were pretty damn awesome, as we were about 50 feet from the acoustic center stage, when it's important to be close and intimate with the band. I'm ok with being further away from the main stage, as what it lacks in band proximity it makes up for in being able to see the lighting effects and not be quite so close to the Death Amps. (Next time they're around me though? Against the rails, baby).

Screamed every word to every song at the top of my lungs, one voice in a sea of thousands, all sharing the same moment, the same love for the 4 guys on the stage and the music they make. The loud, screamy songs get me screaming with all the passion and power I can muster. The slower songs hit all the right notes in my soul. And the slow version of "Everlong" soloed by Dave still never fails to make me want to grab the nearest boy and kiss him. I danced and waved and shouted and headbanged so hard and so long my neck still hurts. I don't think any other band inspires me to just let go like that, and it's one of the things I love the most about them.

Was witness to lots of hetero-guy-love banter between Dave and Taylor. The guys were in top form, and anyone there could tell they really love doing what they do. As Dave said, "You're not going to see a bunch of kids play for an hour and 15 minutes, you're here to see a bunch of old guys play for two hours plus. After 13 years you actually learn how to DO it." And do they ever. I wish I had even a tenth of a percent of his talent.

...also he's gorramn sexy. Seriously. (Cute butt, too. Never been close enough to notice it before XD)

My favorite points of the show:
-Taylor's 5-bajillion drum solos.
-Dave declaring his desire to make out with Taylor
-When they played "Monkeywrench", and when they got to the bridge (The part that starts "One last sin before I quit"), Dave stopped singing...and the entire crowd sang/shouted the entire bridge.
-The pre-encore live video of Dave backstage calling upon the audience to scream for an encore. Especially when Taylor suggested a 10-song encore. Which would have been totally ok.
-Rocking out with that random guy who stole the empty seat next to me before the encore during "Best of You"
-The triangle solo

I can't wait to see them again, whenever that is. I WILL find a way to meet them some day.

...oh, Jimmy Eat World was pretty awesome, too. I'll be getting their newest CD. I already have one of their older ones. Against Me was significantly less awesome, but they seemed to enjoy themselves.
