And this is the other pic I mentioned~! :D
*is posting them separate to avoid burning out the eyes of people not into yaoi* XD *lol* That way you can see this pic without seeing the yaoi one, if you're underage or dislike yaoi. :D
Warning: Even though this pic is not 18+ like the one in the previous post, it's still a VERY dark pic. I'd say PG13, just in case. So click only if you don't mind angst or blood.
(Though if you mind those things and are a VK fan, it must be difficult. XD XD *lol*)

This is almost part fanart and part fanfic. XD; *lol*
This pic is inspired by the whole series, although what motivated me to draw it in particular was chapter 52.
I won't say much to not spoil anyone who hasn't read yet, but uhm, the scene on the hands and knees over the shattered mirror, and the scene that follows, where he stays on his knees and you can almost TOUCH the pain in the air... 8D; *epic fangirling of the immense angst there*
There's so many people who only see Kaname's perfect mask of "all is under control", and who don't see how broken he is inside. I think we're only starting to see the tip of the iceberg, and not even Yuuki might realize that. D:
--
And more in detail:
Mask:
The image on the left represents the perfect mask, the way all the others see him, as the pureblood, perfect, beautiful, on a pedestal, clean and pure and adored and all that.
(Hence the Night Class and Day class all around adoringly looking up at him. If you look, you can spot Aidou, Luca, and that random guy from the Day Class, and that was in line to confess his love to Kaname and give him chocolates, in volume 1! XD *LOL*
The rest are random characters, though one of them might be Seiren. ;D)
Truth:
The image on the right is a metaphorical representation of how tainted and broken he feels inside.
But because everybody (especially Yuuki) needs him to go on wearing the mask and being perfect for them, he continues showing the appearances on the left. Maybe he is also scared of what will happen if everybody knows everything and sees him for what he is (or more exactly, what he feels he is, the image on the right)... especially Yuuki.
The term "broken slave" etc. is just to hint at the fact that he is slave to his position and because for so long he had his hands tied/was unable to change all that happened, as well as because of how Rido had chained down his will and all that. (*has Rido x Kaname mind images* XD)
The blood that appears to be running from between his legs is also to represent that fate pretty much "raped" him. XD; *lol*
Maybe not only fate, since in a way --morally if not physically-- Rido, the council, and others also did. XD; *lol*
The white drops on his legs and the ground are tears.... maybe. ;) It's up to you. XD *lol*
There are tears, definitely, as you can even see them falling from his eyes, but not all the liquid there might be tears... it's up to whether you want to see that in the pic or just the angst, in which case they're tears. :)

Of course, like I was saying, this is a metaphorical representation of elements inspired from the manga. It's part made-up and part sticks to stuff from the manga, so you can consider it as just like fanfic but in images instead of text. XD; *lol*
As I'm sure you all know, I'm a huge fan of VK in general and of Kaname and Zero in particular, and absolutely love that duality, the way there's a front and a back to it all, Kaname's front being that perfect mask that hides the hurt inside, and Zero's front being the anger and the glaring etc, that also hides so much pain... In that, the two are strangely similar, the fact that there's so much more going on than just the appearances, and both can be so terribly tragic. Even if they're so different in how they deal with things. ^^/
I find it really fascinating to explore the tragic aspects of the VK characters in such pics. It's like throwing the emotion straight into an image format. ^^ Or at least, it's what I was tyring to do... XD *lol*
The two japanese words in the lower center are respectively "the front/the outwards appearances" and "the back/the inside/the truth", btw. :D
*hopes you enjoy the pic and walpapers etc.* :D ♥
