I went on WCYY last night to talk about C&M. Ive been on other tv and radio shows but growing up WCYY was sort of the "indie" station here in town...well, sort of, actually WMPG was always much cooler to be honest, WCYY was always actually pretty commercial and slimy-corporate-ish and stuff too... but given what else is on the radio up here it was always a decent occasional alternative, and a shit ton of people listen to it.
So anyway the point is that WCYY was always sort of a guilty pleasure...you knew it was commercial and using the "alternative" moniker to market itself to teenagers, but it also was station were you could sometimes hear some pretty cool music, and it beat the shit out of the tired old classic rock stations. So it was surprisinly tittilating to be on WCYY last night, knowing how many people listen to it, even though it's maybe not really "my crowd" per se.
So that was sorta cool...yeah. Er. Ok so I guess thats all I have to talk about today. Things are things, im kind of mulling along, more or less ready for summer and getting out of here for the better part of 3 months. For a little while I was mulling over re-recording my CD now that ive more or less learned how to do it, but I think in reality whats going to happen is its going to get mixed well and during that process we're going to be open to re-recording little things here and there as needed.
The newest finished song is "Time of Our Lives" which is on my myspace site now, www.myspace.com/stevenwilliams. I'm not 100% satisfied with the bass and am going to red little bits of it but overall I think it came out pretty well.
