hahahaha, i blame this lady friend of my mum, i was fine by calling them bracelets but when she saw my hand, she went all - "ahhhh slave bracelets!" but she was a nice lady though. i like her. XD

back in the old days - okay feudal era here in asia, mostly Japan, China and other parts, accessories sort of differentiate people of classes - the royal/elites, and the peasants/slaves. and slaves wears these black-bracelets. XD
