(no subject)
wow. so, we have internet access again, and since i don't have the time to come up with the quality of posts that i would like for my new blog yet (with pictures and stuff) i have decided to start posting here again in the meantime.
what has happened?
we decided to move out of our old house after another nearby shooting, and are now living in a small, heated, tent-like area on the first floor of our building on penn ave while we renovate the third floor into a sweet apartment. actually unfortunately james is doing almost all the renovation because he is better and faster at it, and i am watching river pretty much all the time plus fulfilling all my luddite fantasies of things like washing laundry by hand every day. things like that are rough, but kind of fun to the part of me that likes ridiculous challenges. the hardest part is that i am getting stir-crazy and bored. but the apartment should be done and moved into by the end of february, and it's going to be really cool.
river is six months old! well, close to seven now, actually. within the span of about one week he started crawling, sitting up by himself, pulling up to stand and cutting his first tooth. now his favorite crazy trick is pushing off from things when he's standing up. he can stand up by himself for a few seconds, but then he pretty much always falls and hurts himself. poor baby. he continues to be super cheerful (except when teething) and cute and make me wish i had sewed the clothes i was hoping to sew for him before he was born, instead of assuming that i would have plenty of time to do that as we went along.
i guess that's mostly it, because of the business. i have more saved up thoughts, but i'd better clean up the tent now and post again later.
