Dear Professor Labs,
It's me again, Mum. I'm afraid I'm a little late this year, but happy Mother's Day. It's been a while since I last wrote, hasn't it? Things have been very I would have called, but I'm afraid I don't have your telephone number. I'm sure you're very busy anyway, so perhaps a letter is the faster route anyway.
There was a war, did you hear about that? I survived! Absolutely shocking, I know. We're all war heroes now. Front page of the newspaper and everything. Would you like a copy? I'm sure I can get my hands on another for you.
The boys are doing well, including Gauss. Did you ever get those photos I sent you? Today I learned... well... something incredibly surprising today about one of them. Regarding his family. I'm... fairly certain I didn't do enough for him, but I don't know what else I could do at the time. It's certainly not a scenario you expect everyday, even in our field. It doesn't change anything at all, of course. To me at least. I'm sure many things have changed for him. But he's still the same boy I met years ago. Just older. More intelligent. And he is frightfully intelligent. He'll be a star when he grows up. Haha, but I've told you that before, haven't I? I just have to help him realize that he's the same person, don't I? I'm sure its something he's worried about but... ah... I'm no good with sorting out emotions and the like.
We'll just have to see how things go, I suppose. It's the start of a new school year! There's bound to be plenty of fresh opportunities for all.
Do tell father hello, won't you? (Does he still want that farm? I met a very nice cow during the war, her name is Beatrice. Produces very good dairy if you sing to her just right~) Unfortunately I couldn't include any, but I have included some packets of some smashingly good tea. I hope you'll enjoy them!
Take care of yourself, Mum.
From your son with affection,
Maxwell Labs
PS. Gauss says hello.
