Jesus, it's been a while since I've done anything with this. I'm not going to bother catching up on everything that has passed. Just trying to keep up with my day to days for a bit. Get things out of my head

Jim Croce, gone too soon. Good to have his songs, though. I sometimes listen to YouTube for hours, discovered all sorts of stuff, putting pieces together. There are entire albums. What a luxury! We have a lot on vinyl, LPs we haven't heard in decades - the turntable and arm were too delicate to repair and we couldn't justify replacing them. Lyrics sites usually annoy me when I see errors that seem to get copied from one to another. I've found a couple that accept corrections, sent in a few - but never followed up.
I think the appeal of rent is that it's a fixed-amount expense. Food can get out of hand. If I still lived in the States I'd probably have no self-control, there's so much available, including delicious fast food and junk food. When I visit my brothers in the PNW, whether we cook at home, shop at Trader Joe's or get street food or go to buffets and the occasional restaurant - I gain avg. 2 lbs/week. Why all my clothes for years had elastic waistbands.
If you're up for some recommendations for times of boredom (by me it's lack of concentration, I always have too many unfinished things I "could" do) - I could recommend my present favorite website for fun and inspiration and another that's animal-welfare oriented. But I don't want to intrude. (Discovered you just now on Add_me but didn't want to comment there because my own LJ was abandoned for years and I'm too slow at getting back to it - I just got some new freelance jobs that are tricky if not nearly impossible to coordinate.)
You're welcome to read my profile and interests. If you add me I'll add you back so you can read my old Friends-only posts. I'm also available for questions. I too like reading/commenting and hope my stuff is of interest to others. If not your cup of tea, no problem. We'll see how it goes.
Thanks, I adore Jim. Some of my earliest memories was my father singing him to me to get me to sleep. I don't have a lot of fond memories of my father, but that is one of them.
I spend a decent bit of idle time at home listening to Best of albums on Youtube. Lately The Best of America has been my favorite. They have horrible lyrics, but an amazing sound. We have a ton of vinyl ourselves, and an amazing 1930's console player, but no needle for it, so sadly I can't play my records either.
I like paying Rent because it's one of the few times I can feel completely accomplished. Like I'm an adult. despite being 30, I'm still an utter child in a lot of aspects, but paying those bills reminds me that I'm still getting what I need to finished. Food is an issue for me, because.. Well, I'm broke. Even working as a cook, food is rarely a fun time. Neither of us ever feel like cooking, so it never goes well.
Inspiration websites would always be welcome. I find myself in a mental hole a lot, but I've very into self betterment. I have a lot of mental issues, but I'm constantly trying to find little ways to overcome. I do spend a lot of time reading up on my animals, because their happiness and welfare are one of my top priorities. People think it's silly because " they're only rats " , but they mean a great deal to me, and them having the best possible life is extremely important.
I am definitely adding you. You seem to have an opinion on things, which is more then I find from most people here is seems.
