Summary: Ginny is left at home during the final battle

Ginny woke up in the middle of the night to banging on the door of The Burrow. Cautiously, she got up, grabbed her wand and walked down the stairs. She was the only one home at the moment. Her mum and dad had left right after dinner a few days ago and refused to tell her why. All of her brothers minus Ron had moved out and were doing various things with various people in various places. As for Ron he was out on a secret mission with Hermione and Harry that no one would tell her what it was. Ginny had suspected that it had to do with Tom but no one would tell her. She was always so overprotected by everyone.
The thought of Harry made tears well up in her eyes. She missed him. She longed for him to hold her and make her feel like everything was okay. But he wasn’t here. Ginny didn’t even know if she would see him alive again. Ginny didn’t know if she’d ever get to hold him and feel like everything was okay.
As she stepped off the last stair Ginny Weasley froze. Should she let whoever this was in? She didn’t know who it was. She was a target for the Death Eaters being as Fred and George would teasingly call her “The Girl Who Dates The Boy Who Lived”. She stood in front of the door pondering the question. But the door fell. Ginny blinked and saw a smug looking Hermione Granger looking at her.
“Hi Ginny! Can I come in? By the way I have a birthmark on my upper back that looks like an otter. And you secretly like old fashioned muggle music.”
Ginny let out a chuckle as Hermione stepped in and with a simple Reparo fixed the door. Those last two sentences were the clues that they used to identify each other in regards to Ministry Regulations.
“Where are the boys?” Ginny was confused as to why Hermione was here with out them.
“I just got out of the Final Battle. I was fighting Malfoy and made the boys go ahead to Voldemort. I don’t know but everything is over.” Hermione looked just as scared as Ginny.
The fireplace suddenly lit with green flames. The entire Weasley Clan emerged one by one with Ron explaining that Harry and Voldemort went off alone.
There was a sharp crack and as Ginny turned to see who it was she was greeted by the most unexpected thing. It was Harry without his lightning bolt scar.
